Coaching  &  Accompanying Singers For The Stage

 

 

Pianists learn to accompany singers and coach diction in different languages— Italian, Latin, French, German, Russian, Czech, Spanish and English. Pianists work on the elements of musical style, musical interpretation, musical tradition, tempo, rhythm, dynamics, phrasing, articulation, and ornamentation. Special emphasis is placed on the German lieder song cycle style and the French art song style.

Pianists  learn the various elements of accompanying and coaching, and the importance of the psychological and spiritual relationship between the accompanist and the artist. Pianist discover the similarities and differences between opera, operetta, symphonic, music theater,  musicals, cabaret, oratorio, sacred and secular coaching. Pianists learn how to plan out various concert programs for the stage, and the success of achieving artistic excellence in performance.
